Considering the growing spread of HIV/AIDS in this section of society, digital media operate as a potential tool in health education. Objective: To justify in the literature the evidence of the influence of social media on education and communication for HIV prevention among young people. Method: Based on these indications, this research is a qualitative Scoping Review study, whose data acquisition and analysis refers to the year 2023, developed according to the recommendations of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) and PRISMA Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR). Combinations were used between the keywords of the descriptors with the association of the mnemonic strategy Participant, Concept and Context (PCC) with the Descriptors in Health Sciences/Medical Subject Headings (DeCS/MeSH): HIV; Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome; youth; Health education; Adolescent; Social media; Internet. The sample studied consisted of six articles. Results: Regarding communication/prevention education strategies: the studies dealt more clearly with due care to avoid HIV infection. The use of communication apps and the passing on of information were the most common. As for access to the internet and social media, the most widely used device is the cell phone/smartphone, followed by the computer. The most cited reason for using social media to pass on health education information is the accessibility of technology to young people, both quickly and cheaply. Conclusion: Using everyday technologies as educational tools is crucial for transmitting information, especially when involving young people, which facilitates the dissemination of knowledge about sexuality and HIV/AIDS prevention. Recognizing this importance in health policies underscores the need for innovative and adaptable strategies to raise awareness and prevent HIV/AIDS among young people, contributing to effective control of the epidemic.HIVmídias sociaiseducação em saúde;adolescentesíndrome da imunodeficiência adquiridasocial mediahealth educationacquired immunodeficiency syndromeadolescentInfluência das mídias sociais na educação e comunicação em saúde para prevenção de HIV entre jovens: revisão de escopoInfluence of social media on health education and communication for HIV prevention among young people: a scoping reviewbachelorThesis
