For this purpose, precipitation data from 14 rain gauge stations distributed within and around the territory of the Seridó Geopark were used. The rainfall analysis was carried out based on statistical analyses and the estimation of its spatial distribution through spatial interpolation in a GIS environment using the IDW method. The territory of the Seridó Geopark is located in a semi-arid depression area and experiences a rainy season concentrated in the first half of the year, from January to May, with the highest rainfall levels occurring between February and May. There is interannual rainfall variability, with some years showing high levels and others marked by discrepancies throughout the analyzed period. Regarding the spatial variability of precipitation, it is influenced by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the trade winds (mEa), the main atmospheric systems operating in the region. Additionally, the relief, particularly the Borborema Plateau, exerts a significant influence by reducing the moisture coming from the Atlantic OceanPluviometria;variabilidade espaço-temporalSIGPluviometrySpatio-temporal variabilityGISAnálise da pluviometria no território do Geoparque Seridó - RN: de 2005 a 2020Analysis of rainfall in the territory of the Seridó Geopark – RN: from 2005 to 2020bachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::GEOGRAFIA
