The Electronic Citizen's Medical Record (PEC) has emerged as an essential tool to optimize care, centralize information, and provide greater efficiency in the management of health units. Therefore, the main objective of this work is to identify the main advantages and challenges that the Electronic Citizen's Medical Record (PEC) has brought to primary health care, with the results observed through the analyses carried out in the literature review. The methodology applied was based on bibliographic research seeking articles published from 2019 to 2024, using open access academic platforms such as SciELO and Google Scholar. The PEC improves the quality of care by centralizing data, reducing errors and optimizing the management of UBS. It facilitates integration between health units and the monitoring of public policies. Despite advances, it still faces challenges such as poor infrastructure and resistance from professionals. The study showed that the PEC contributes significantly to the efficiency of Primary Care, integrating information and streamlining processes.
