Dissertação (Mestrado em Música) - Escola de Música, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2021.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/45646Bering in mind the need for teaching materials capable of developing Horn players who work focused primarily on making music, using the technique as a tool in order to communicate a musical discourse of excellence, this research entitled “The learning of the Horn through Arnold Jacobs’ pedagogical memories” had the objective of presenting perspectives for the insertion of methodological aspects of the pedagogical approach of that artist and pedagogue, in the teaching of the Horn in Brazil. Then, qualitative research was carried out, with a strategic basic purpose, descriptive and exploratory objective, performed with bibliographic and documentary procedures. Therefore, it was necessary to identify the methodological aspects contemplated in the various means of recording the work of Arnold Jacobs; analysis from the literature, influences, approaches and methodologies used in the teaching of the Horn in Brazil; define the main methodological aspects of Jacobs’ approach, considering the characteristics of Horn teaching in Brazil from the analyzed literature. Therefore, it was found that it is possible to include methodological aspects of Arnold Jacobs’ pedagogical approach in the teaching of the Horn in Brazil, as it aims to meet the demands of a country that presents inequality of opportunities and difficulties in accessing educational institutions or specialized teachers, being of easy experimentation, complementing the already existing practices in Brazil.Acesso AbertoEnsino de trompaEnsino de instrumentoArnold JacobsInterpretação musicalPrática de instrumento de metalmasterThesis
