There are several studies currently under development that study various aspects of the causative agent of this disease, aiming to expand knowledge about it. However, they are faced with technical challenges, such as the problem in the process of freezing/thawing this protozoan in order to reduce the costs of cultivation, ensure the preservation of the crop in case of contamination. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate four cryopreservation protocols against T. cruzi, using glycerol and DMSO in different proportions (%) in different freezing times (15, 30, 60, 90 and 180 days). Keywords: Chagas disease. Trypanosoma cruzi. Viability. Freezing protocols. In addition, the aim was to establish the protocol with greater feasibility after the thawing times. For this, viability parameters were established and achieved, such as: motility, multiplication power and the amount of this parasite at the end of each thawing. The protocols showed different behaviors, with protocol 3 having the highest cryoprotective capacity up to 180 days.
