From this perspective, this final paper aimed to clarify the effects of this economic influence on the lives of those who live in Natal-RN, through a news report, mainly evidencing the fall in purchasing power in 2022. The project was developed from bibliographic research and economic data, in addition to interviews with natives. The way it was produced follows the line of economic journalism that values accessibility to the public, so that the journalistic content is understood by all.
