Considering that stress negatively interferes with professional performance, and that this associated with low levels of physical activity can cause impairment in quality of life. The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between physical activity, stress and quality of life of Primary Care resident professionals. Thus, this is a cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, in which 49 professionals participated in the Multidisciplinary Residency Program in Primary Care, at the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Four questionnaires were administered using Google Forms, namely: Sociodemographic Questionnaire, International Physical Activity Questionnaire - IPAC (Short Version); Stress Perception Scale - EPS-10; and WHOQOL-BREF. In data analysis, the Mann-Whitney U test was applied for independent samples in order to identify differences in the EPS-10 and Whoqool-bref domains based on the level of physical activity of residents. Thus, the present study identified an average age between 23 and 27 years old with a predominance of females, in addition it was observed that the majority of participants are physically active. However, participants obtained a high average on the stress scale, which did not vary by the level of physical activity practiced by residents. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that self-perception of quality of life was regular. Therefore, we can conclude that the practice of physical activity can act positively in maintaining controlled levels of stress, and consequently, enhance the quality and life of resident professionals. However, it is important to point out that other factors and behaviors operate in this context and that they can be addressed in other studies.
