Knowing that there are several challenges to maintain the enrollment of children in school, we sought to identify how the monitoring of this conditionality of the PBF at Escola Municipal Prof.ª. Vera Lúcia Gonçalves located in Extremoz/RN, reflecting on how this theme impacts the educational, social and human development of elementary school students enrolled in the teaching unit.Based on an interview with the Department of Work and Social Assistance of Extremoz and on forms answered by the teaching operators of the school under analysis, it was possible to identify that, at the local level, there are flaws in the management of the program, passing through difficulties in confirming the veracity of the information presented by the user at the time of registration and the absence of an effective inspection to validate the benefit.For education operators, the conditionality of school attendance, in addition to being a requirement for receiving the benefit, contributes to the improvement in the attendance of children and adolescents, as well as to the reduction of school dropout and dropout.
