Padrão inflamatório alimentar empírico brasileiro e sua relação com o estadiamento histopatológico de pacientes com câncer de tireoide. 2022. 37f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Nutrição) - Departamento de Nutrição, Centro de Ciências da Saúde, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2022.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/49830Thyroid cancer stands out for being the most common neoplasm in the head and neck region, in this context the diet is expressed as a strong risk factor for development, having a strong influence on the individual's state of inflammation, which is related to the predisposition. to several other chronic diseases. One way to assess inflammation as a result of food consumption is through the empirical dietary inflammatory pattern adapted for a Brazilian population (EDIP-SP), which is a tool with the potential to investigate the association between quality, dietary inflammatory potential and chronic diseases. . Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the relationship between the histopathological staging of patients with thyroid cancer and EDIP-SP. A cross-sectional study was carried out to obtain the inflammatory pattern, according to the methodology proposed by NORDE et al. (2020), data from 2 or 3 24-hour Food Recalls of individuals, adults and elderly people with thyroid cancer were used. To assess nutritional status, the Body Mass Index (BMI) variable was used, dichotomized into normal weight and overweight, and the histopathological staging followed the classification based on the 8th edition of the TNMA classification and staging system. Statistical analyzes were performed using the Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests, using the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) v. 29.0, with p <0.005 considered significant. The sample consisted of 94 patients, 81.15% of whom were female and 89.85% were adults. We did not observe significant differences when analyzing the variable EDIP-SP between individuals with malignant and benign CT (p = 0.311), between the staging of malignant CT (p = 0.941) and in relation to nutritional status (p = 0.865). We concluded that we did not find significant relationships between the histopathological staging of the sample of patients with CT and EDIP-SP, but we emphasize the importance of using EDIP-SP in different chronic non-communicable diseases, including cancer.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Neoplasias da glândula tireoideCâncer de tireóideConsumo de alimentosDietaPadrão inflamatório brasileiroPadrão inflamatório alimentar empírico brasileiro e sua relação com o estadiamento histopatológico de pacientes com câncer de tireoideBrazilian empirical food inflammatory pattern and its relationship with the histopathological staging of patients with thyroid cancerbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
