This quantitative and descriptive study analyzed the relationship between remuneration, bonuses, and motivation among 90 employees of bank branches in Rio Grande do Norte, based on an electronic questionnaire containing 20 closed questions. The research highlighted that workers' motivation is intrinsically linked to their perception of fairness and clarity in remuneration and bonus policies. Most respondents considered their salaries insufficient and bonuses essential, although they acknowledged gaps in the criteria for granting them. Employees with family responsibilities emphasized the need for financial rewards as the main factor of appreciation. The analysis also revealed that the frequency of bonuses and alignment with the market are crucial for engagement and talent retention. The results reinforce that salary increases are the primary demand of employees, while frequent financial bonuses and fair criteria are determining factors for satisfaction and performance.
