In this sense, the present study has the general objective of investigating the occurrence of low back pain in patients treated at a Basic Health Unit (UBS), located in the urban area of the municipality of Caicó - RN. This is a study that adopts a mixed approach, combining quantitative aspects - an observational and descriptive research, which analyzes the prevalence of chronic low back pain (CLBP) among users of a basic health unit located in the urban area of Caicó, in Rio Grande do Norte - and qualitative aspects - a scoping review, which explores the theoretical framework on CLBP and culminates in the creation of an illustrative manual. Data collection was carried out through medical records collected from January to October 2024. Data analysis was done descriptively. The results indicate that, of the 2,667 registered consultations, 3% were categorized as osteomyarticular involvement, with emphasis on low back pain (M545), followed by muscle pain (L18). These findings suggest possible underreporting and lack of knowledge regarding the coding of diagnoses. Therefore, it is concluded that CLBP has a significant impact on the quality of life and functionality of users, emphasizing the importance of multidisciplinary interventions that integrate pharmacological treatments, physical therapies and educational actions.
