Concerning to their function, they may be distinguished as static and dynamic. Three-dimensional (3D) printing technology is enhancing its relevance in making orthotics. This review craved to map passive orthoses for the upper which have been produced by 3D printing via Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) and applied to the population with pathologies. Researches were carried out in two databases, PubMed and IEEE Xplore, through which 1,101 papers were found, among which 201 are duplicates. Excluding those duplicates, the remaining 900 passed through the two reviewers screening of title and abstract. The screening excluded 857 papers, remaining 43 papers whose full text we accessed and of which 13 papers were considered eligible. Besides the general characteristics of the studies, the specific characteristics are also presented, such as materials used in the structure of the orthosis, types of orthoses, study design, sample size (n), age of the participants, diagnosis, image acquisition method, modeling method, mechanical testing, production time. The most produced orthosis was the wrist and hand one. The most treated pathology was fracture. And polylactic acid is the most used material for printing. Studies that talked about the structures of orthoses were few, due to the scarcity of either elements or mechanical tests. This study did not estimate the functional and adverse effects of these orthoses. It is expected that future studies will take notice of them. Given that 3D technology is evolving each year, we may expect better orthotics, with stronger materials and faster printings.Órtese.Orthoses.Impressão 3D.3D printing.Membros superiores.Upper limbÓrteses de membro superior por impressão tridimensional utilizadas em pacientes com patologia ortopédica, neurológica, reumatológica: uma revisão de escopobachelorThesis
