Viabilidade técnica de espécies madeireiras da caatinga para a produção de painéis de madeira colada lateralmente. 2019. 49f. Dissertação (Mestrado em Ciências Florestais) - Escola Agrícola de Jundiaí, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2019.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/jspui/handle/123456789/28039The demand for wood products promoted the improvement of the glued wood technique. Among the innovative alternatives of this technique stands out the Edge Glued Panel (EGP). The woods used as raw material for the manufacture of this type of panel are usually obtained from trees with small diameter. In order to evaluate the technical potentialities of Caatinga species, the present work aims to analyze the technological characteristics of Cordia oncocalyx Allmanha (Pau Branco), Aspidosperma pyrifolium Mart (Pereiro) and Mimosa caesalpiniifolia Benth woods. (Sabiá), as well as evaluate the joints bonded with the adhesives Vinyl Polyacetate (PVAc) D3 and D4, Polyurethane (PU), Polymeric Isocyanate Emulsion (EPI) and Melamine Urea Formaldehyde (MUF). analyzes on the physicochemical properties of wood, shear test of glued joints according to EN 1334: 2003, as well as percentage of wood failures according to the procedures described in ABNT NBR ISO 12466-1: 2006. For better evaluation of the glue line resistance, the specimens were divided and submitted to four pretreatments following the recommendations of EN 13354: 2008 and the prerequisites of EN 13353: 2008. The statistical design was completely randomized, with a 3 x 5 factorial arrangement, being three species and five adhesive. The data of the physicochemical analyzes of the species were evaluated by Tukey test at 95% probability. The results obtained in the analyzes regarding the wood basic density, extractives content and wood pH presented statistical differences among themselves. Based on the shear strength analyzes, it is concluded that the three species under study have potential use as raw material in the production of EGP panels for internal and structural use bonded with the MUF adhesive, since all met the prerequisite of the Lower 5th percentile which is 2.5 Mpa according to EN 13354: 2003.Acesso AbertoCisalhamentoTeor de extrativosDensidade básica5° percentil inferiorPoliacetato de vinilaViabilidade técnica de espécies madeireiras da caatinga para a produção de painéis de madeira colada lateralmenteTechnical feasibility of caatinga wood species for the production of edge glued panelmasterThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS AGRARIAS::RECURSOS FLORESTAIS E ENGENHARIA FLORESTAL
