During their undergraduate studies, electrical engineering students are more accustomed to medium voltage substations. However, it is essential for future professionals to know at least the basics about the design of 69, 138, and 230 kV substations, as there are many demands in the market, and engineers working in this field stand out when they have this level of knowledge. In this regard, the work was developed with an introduction and contextualization about the power system and substations, including some normative and bibliographic references on the subject.
