Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em História) - Departamento de História, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/59516The Conjuração Baiana of the late 18th century, was a political manifestation in search of freedom and equality, these rights are still the topics present in current historiographic discussions in the perspective of social struggles in the fight against oppression and injustice to minorities, in racial equality and in human rights. There is still little repercussions of its history, basically restricted to the academic space and in a superficial way in schools, although it is a symbol of inclusion when we talk about the contribution of the Conjuração to the formation of the identity of the Bayan population, helping in the cultural formation of Afro-Brazilian. The appreciation of this study in schools, backed up in the ideas of the Enlightenment, is necessary for the understanding of this complex event, analyzing its consequences in the present. We present in this article a bibliographic study on the events of 1798 examining such principles, so widespread in the historiography of the popular revolts of the eighteenth century (TEIXEIRA, 2009; TAVARES, 2016; GRESPAN, 2003; SCHWARCZ, STARLING, 2015) and the autonomous processes of the Bayan people, characteristic of the criticism of the decolonialist theories (BOAVENTURA SANTOS, ), as well as their impacts on the public history of the folk revolts in some Didactic Books of the PNLD of 2017.CC0 1.0 Universalhttp://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/Conjuração BaianaIluminismoEnsino de HistóriaLivro didático de HistóriabachelorThesis
