C. Escher. The composition was guided by extramusical elements, especially the technique of ekphrasis — the practice of translating characteristics of a visual artwork into another artistic medium. The creative path was organized using the compositional process model proposed by Silva (2010), which structures the process into five instances: Principles, Ideas, Goals, Materials, and Techniques, all linked to a central instance: Results. Tools such as audio recordings, mind maps, and transcriptions were used to ensure a continuous and updated record of the work in its various stages. The piece follows an A-B-A form, musically reflecting Escher’s visual transformations through the use of motives, timbres, and textures that evolve via visual analogies. As a result, beyond the finalized and performed piece, this work suggests a model applicable to the creation of new musical works inspired by different artistic media.pt-BRAttribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/composição musicalekphrasisprocesso criativoMetamorfoseM.
