The consumption of electricity and all expenses related to this need are frequent themes of studies of the most diverse areas of knowledge. Energy saving is a reality that not only aroused private institutions, UFRN is experiencing a moment of transition in which it stopped having its electricity supply through two inputs of electricity at 13,800 V and started to be supplied through a line of 69,000 V, which leads to an overall reduction in the energy bill. Associated with this new infrastructure, a system of supervision, measurement and billing of the energy that will be charged to each Center has been implemented, forcing the managers of these units to use energy more rationally. In this perspective, this dissertation is a research proposal, under a technical-economic aspect, which analyzes the load profile of one of the Centers - Bioscience Center - and with this a comparative analysis of the functioning of a generator set in the such - hours of the day when electricity is more expensive. This will be yet another attempt for energy reductions by sector and the use of idle installed capacity of generators with poor routine maintenance.
