The observations were based on sign and visual capabilities, known as deaf culture. Answers were obtained by applying surveys to collaborators who have interacted virtually. We performed a bibliographic, exploratory, and descriptive research. It is a case study, under a qualitative approach, theoretically based on ideas from: Batista (2006), Mazzota (2005), Mantoan (2011), Menezes (2004), Araújo (2003), and other authors. This research was performed at an unidentified school from Caicó – RN. By data analysis, we could realize the historical challenges deaf people face, besides the depravation of their rights caused by restrictive beliefs.
