Method: This is a cross-sectional, descriptive study with a quantitative approach. We considered elderly (n = 30) who used full dentures and / or partial bimaxillary assisted by the Department of Dentistry of UFRN. Data collection consisted of socioeconomic-demographic questionnaires, clinical examination (oral / dental prosthesis), satisfaction assessment with prosthesis through the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), food consumption assessment from the Food Recall (R24h) and analysis of current nutrient intake through Dietbox® software. Descriptive analysis of data and bivariate (chi-square, Fisher's exact, Mann-Whitney tests) with a confidence level of 95% was performed. Results: Regarding food intake, as satisfactory practices related to higher calorie intake (p = 0.038), lower carbohydrate intake (p = 0.023) and higher lipid intake (p = 0.023) and higher lipid intake (p = 0.025), magnesium (p = 0.031), zinc (p = 0.002) and sodium (p = 0.019). A partial (p = 0.040) prosthesis, made by a dentist (p <0.001) and with favorable technical quality for upper (p <0.001) and inferior (p <0.001) prostheses.
