Dissertação (Mestrado Profissional em Ensino de História - Profhistoria) - Centro de Ciências Humanas, Letras e Artes, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2020.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/30926This master thesis presents a historical investigation about Parnamirim city, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, and the reflections of this in the school floor, observing it inserted into a binomial of consecrated memory, crystallized in the advent of the installation of an American base in the municipality, as a result of the Second World War and of buried or marginalized memories, which approximate other aspects of the city’s history, but find no space in the study of local history in the classroom because they are covered in this heroic and romanticized shadow of the consecrated fragment. Once this duality and the consequent absences resulting from it, aimed in this search a historical interpretation that considered another fragments of local history to be worked in the classroom, according the educations laws and its deliberations about a formation structured in the cultural diversity and historical contextualization according to the student's social reality, themes on which local history is an indispensable structural base. In that perspective, the importance of the studies on memory, history of cities, local history and teaching, was worked on at first, in order to theoretically structure the research, then to a historiographical review of the productions about the theme already published so far, in order to achieve with ownership the aspects of consecration and marginalization of memory and historicity, contained in the information listed by such texts.
