Those involved expose their life stories to each other, thus enabling greater insight into socially crucial issues, promoting awareness of human rights. The general aim of this study is to create an edition of the Human Library service within the Câmara Cascudo State Library, so that participants can expand their understanding of the conditions of other individuals. The specific objectives were to plan the development of a Human Library in a public library in the state of Rio Grande do Norte; to carry out a practical experience of the Human Library; to verify the feasibility of implementing the Human Library service in the Câmara Cascudo State Library; and to analyze the benefits that the Human Library brings to society. The methodology used in the preparation of this project was characterized by exploratory research, using the basic type of quantitative and qualitative method, carried out in the course of a case study, which made it possible to exercise reflective thought on the benefits of the service for society. The results of the studies made it possible to hold the event, which, in addition to promoting dialogue, showed that the service is a notable benefit in terms of cultural and social exchange in a reciprocal way with regard to human recognition.
