The exploratory study, with a qualitative approach, aimed to characterize, in the light of innovation in the public administration, the transformative actions that added value in improving the fuel consumption monitoring and control system of the State fleet employed in the Metropolitan Region of Natal-RN Semi-structured interviews were carried out with managers involved in the system implemented, and data provided by the Secretariats were analyzed. The innovation generated has the potential for expansion and replicability.
