This dissertation covers the development of a firewall system for TCP/IP-based industrial networks which can protect automation devices from abnormal traffic. Thus, all non-conformity traffic or traffic which does not respect the imposed constraints is considered abnormal and must be blocked. It was developed an user-space application which filters traffic in the application layer.
