Aiming to reverse this collapse, the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) method was developed as an attempt to regain spontaneous circulation. Therefore, training in Basic Life Support (BLS) currently represents a policy strategy to support the population's health. Thus, the present study aims to train professionals at the Basic Health Unit (UBS) - Santa Costa in Basic Life Support in the primary care setting and characterize the structure of the unit, its supplies and urgent and emergency medications. During the intervention project, the professionals participating in the study received theoretical-practical training on the topic. The data collected were tabulated and analyzed, making it possible to infer that the professionals already had some level of prior knowledge on the subject, but that the study was relevant to the process of permanent training of UBS professionals, as it made it possible to rectify mistakes and professional advancement, due to the fact that employees improved their expertise on the subject. Thus, allowing us to contribute to the qualification of services offered to the population and the improvement of work skills. Due to the facts mentioned, PCR is characterized as a public health problem that deserves attention, and the reduction of undesirable outcomes is a challenge for health services and society as a whole.
