The motivation arose from the author’s personal and professional experiences in teaching brass instruments in school settings and social projects, where a lack of preventive measures and pedagogical practices that consider the physical and mental well-being of musicians was observed. The main objective is to identify the primary occupational pathologies that may affect these musicians, understand their causes, and propose pedagogical strategies that can contribute to a healthier and more conscious musical education and learning process. The research adopts an exploratory and qualitative approach, based on a critical literature review, document analysis, and personal narrative. In addition to these points, the work proposes interdisciplinary pedagogical practices, prevention strategies, and reflections on a personal account of anxiety and depression experienced by the author. This research is justified by the lack of in-depth studies in the Portuguese language regarding occupational health in the teaching of brass instruments, and by the desire to promote a teaching and learning environment grounded in care, inclusion, and the sustainability of the artistic career.
