The objective: of this study was to analyze the development of the auditory pathway using the Frequency Following Response (FFR) with speech stimulus /da/ in babies with treated congenital syphilis. Methodology: 12 subjects, divided into: Cg - six babies in the control group with no risk indicator for hearing loss, Expg - two in the group exposed to syphilis, Csg - four in the congenital syphilis group. All of them had transient otoacoustic emissions and normal results in the auditory brainstem evoked potential. FFR performed in two periods (T1- 1 month and T2- 6 months) with four intervals of 1,000 sweeps, in a window of -40 to 270.27 ms, alternating polarity, intensity of 80dBnHL in the right ear. Stimulus /da/ with fundamental frequency (F0) of 100Hz, duration of 170 ms and speed of 3.70/s. The Kruskal Wallis and Wilcoxons test was used, adopting a significance level of 5%. Results: There were no statistically significant differences in the time and frequency domains between the Gc, Gexp and Gsc. However, there was a difference in T1 and T2 of Gc in the spectral amplitude of F0 and in the mean of the vowel harmonics. Conclusion: Babies exposed to syphilis and with congenital syphilis did not show different neural FFR responses to babies in the Cg, except in the analysis of the frequency domain, bringing evidence that there may be a different development path between the groups. Data that will need confirmation with the expansion of the study sample.audição, sífilis, eletrofisiologia, desenvolvimento infantil.Hearing, syphilis, Electrophysiology, Child Development.Análise do Frequency Following Response com estímulo de fala no desenvolvimento da via auditiva de bebês com sífilis congênita: dados preliminaresAnalysis of the Frequency Following Response with speech stimulus in the development of the auditory pathway of babies with congenital syphilis: preliminary databachelorThesis
