This is a concept analysis following the theoretical-methodological framework proposed by Walker and Avant, applied through Scoping Review. The stages of concept analysis included eight steps: (1) Criteria selection; (2) Determination of the analysis’ objectives; (3) Identification of the concept’s possible uses; (4) Determination of defining attributes; (5) Model case construction; (6) Identification of other cases: opposite case; (7) Identification of antecedents and consequences of the concept; (8) Definition of empirical references. The search was carried out in three parts: at first, Scopus and PubMed, databases were used; secondly, through Cochrane Library, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar; and lastly, using a parallel list of references. Nine studies were selected as the final sample. It was perceived that the continent of publication that prevailed was South America, Portuguese and English appeared with the same frequency, the years with the highest number of publications were from 2016 to 2022. As for methodological aspects, they mostly involved descriptive studies, with level IV scientific evidence and predominantly with a quantitative approach. According to the main leadership model discussed, situational leadership was most prominent. For concept analysis, the influence attribute showed greater evidence. The difficulties faced by nurses, the absence or inadequate application of a leadership model, the complex context and the team's lack of knowledge are the main antecedents. As consequences, the qualitative improvement in nursing care, the satisfactory performance of those led, patient safety, the lower number of adverse events, and effectiveness at work stood out.
