However, the illustrated book, in particular, is a support that makes it possible to create countless universes from its conception, whether by its narrative, its shapes, its colors, or its ludicity through the relationship between image and text in the same object. Through imagination, we can enter stories from the most diverse places and create, from its pages, a journey without leaving the place. The research presented here had as its main objective the reflection about the process of making an illustrated book for the teaching of Visual Arts that has as its theme the folkloric legends of the city of Canguaretama-RN. Therefore, the creation of the illustrated book emerges as a less conventional teaching alternative that enables the use of the Triangular Approach systematized by Barbosa (2012). For this research, other authors who dialogue with the themes of the book were also consulted, such as Cascudo (2004), Van der Linden (2011) and Camargo (1995).
