Seeking to answer the following question: What are the contributions of the participatory management model for the humanization of health services? And it aims to present the participatory management model and its contribution to the humanization of health services. This is a narrative review of articles found in the SciELO - Brasil database published between 2011 and 2022. The characteristics of the participatory management model in the health area were extracted from the articles; the different instruments and/or tools for participatory management in health; the humanization mechanisms and practices in health services and the participatory management model in health regarding the implementation of the National Humanization Policy. In addition, this study also highlighted the importance of people management in the health area.
