All heat exchangers have as their main objective the cooling or heating of fluids using a system that promotes the thermal exchange between fluids, this heat transfer from one medium to another is only possible if there is a temperature difference between them. The process of heat exchange between two fluids that are at different temperatures happens in various engineering applications, such as heating, cooling, power generation and chemical process. In this reasoning, it was proposed, in this final paper, the construction and performance evaluation of a shell and tube recirculation heat exchanger. The main objective is the analysis of its thermodynamic parameters, such as its thermal efficiency, heat rate transferred by the mean temperature difference (MLDT) and effectiveness (e-NTU) methods. The system uses water at low temperature as a cooling fluid, this choice was made by virtue the simplicity in measuring its thermal properties, since they are already in the literature, and also in the ease of obtaining the fluids. Thus, it will be show all the process of building the system, step by step, describing its constructive characteristics that may help in future articles in the area.
