Methodology: This was a birth cohort study conducted between April 2017 and November 2018 with a convenience sample of full-term gestational age infants (37-41 weeks and 6 days) of both sexes and healthy. BP assessments were performed by oscillometric method at 1 and 28 days of age and repeated at 1 year of age. In the statistical analysis, the Kolmogorov-Sminorv test was used to verify the adherence of the variables to the normality curve. Descriptive statistics expressed as mean and standard deviation (SD) for numerical variables and frequencies and percentages for categorical variables. The association of numerical variables was made by Pearson and Spearman correlation tests. To compare BP values at different times during the first year of life, the Anova repeated measures test was performed, using the Sidak Post Hoc. The analyzes were performed by SPSS® version 20, with a 95% confidence interval and a significance level of p <0.05. Results: 206 subjects were evaluated and 42 reassessed at 1 year of age. Of the 206, 112 were boys. The mean systolic blood pressure (SBP) in mmHg was 67 (± 12.65) on day 1, 78 (± 13.17) on day 28 and 116 (± 143.33) at 1 year of age. The mean diastolic blood pressure (DBP) in mmHg was 36 (± 16.08), 48 (± 14.18), and 80 (± 129.39), respectively. Conclusion: The behavior of term NB BP was progressive in the first year of life, with significant difference in the three evaluation moments, presenting an evolution of SBP and DBP, similar to the findings in other regions.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Lactente.
