In the investigated problem, it was identified that Nylon rollers covered with rubberized material presented premature failure. In this case, the present work intends to carry out a qualitative analysis of the durability of rubberized rollers used in an elevator company in the city of Natal-RN and propose a better solution. The bibliographic review of this work contains a brief discussion of the main subjects considered important for the understanding of the investigated problem. In this regard, it is possible to draw all the hypotheses and ideas inherent in the proposed study. In order to accomplish the main objectives of this work, a case study based on field observations of the wear and failure of the rollers has been conducted. It started with data collection, using the Gensuite quality tool, where technicians pointed out the equipment that showed premature wear on the door rollers. After visual inspection and analysis of the data reported in an electronic report, the Brazilian states that most reported this problem were listed to raise hypotheses of possible defects. As a result, it was necessary to explore the anomalies of the investigated component and gather necessary information to guide the proposition of another material, with better wear performance, to produce the rollers. From the results, it was verified that rollers manufactured only with Nylon PA66 might be a better choice for the current application.
