It addresses the global transition from fossil sources to modern renewable sources, notably photovoltaic solar energy, and the evolution of the sector chain, costs, investments made and the development of new specific technologies for generating electricity using photovoltaic solar sources. The country's natural potential for generating electrical energy using modern renewable sources is immense, and in relation to solar radiation, the country has plenty of room to advance in the generation of solar energy both in the centralized system and in terms of distributed generation. In summary, the study offers a comprehensive view of the growing role of photovoltaic solar energy in the electrical energy generation capacity and its territorial concentration, which implies the country maintaining a renewable electrical matrix, with significant representation of wind and photovoltaic solar energy. The latter already assumes a leading role in terms of projects granted, but with construction not yet started, and the evolution in terms of GW has become a competitive source, gaining space in the market and in expansion possibilities also considering small projects. Based on large projects, the object of study of this work, photovoltaic solar energy is the fourth source that generates the most electricity in the country, with greater spread throughout the national territory, with more than half of the total generation capacity being located in the Northeast. of the country.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/EconomiaEnergia solar fotovoltáicaTransição energéticaFontes de energiaBrasilEconomyPhotovoltaic solar energyEnergy transitionEnergy sourcesBrazilEvolução da geração de energia solar fotovoltaica no contexto da diversificação da Matriz Energética NacionalEvolution of solar photovoltaic energy generation in context of the diversification of the National Energy MatrixbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::ECONOMIA
