The creation of Conservation Units in areas of environmental vulnerability has the function of preserving and protecting the biodiversity and processes of the local environmental dynamics. Therefore, the objective of this work was to analyze how urban sprawl is occurring in the area of the Jenipabu Environmental Protection Area, emphasizing the evolution of the buildings in the place, in the years 2001, 2010 and 2017, using a low cost tool, easy to use and access. To do so, the analysis of the satellite images was carried out in the Google Earth Pro software, evaluating the urban expansion during the mentioned periodsIt were evidenced that there were intense modifications with respect to the urban expansion in the Area of Environmental Protection of Jenipabu, mainly in the region near the mobile dunes.
