2019. 30 f. PRP therapy provides growth factors to the injured tissues by triggering a local inflammatory process to mimic the tissue repair process. Its use has shown better results in the treatment of acute and subacute lesions, but its efficacy is still questioned for treating chronic lesions due to partial improvement of patients. The present review sought, in the current literature, information available on PRP from experimental human articles in the PubMed / Medline database on the use of PRP in different musculoskeletal injuries. It was found based on available evidence that PRP has positive results in treating painful symptomatology in tendinopathy and osteoarthritis, especially in the first six months after PRP use. It is concluded from the available evidence that PRP can be used as an effective means to treat musculoskeletal injuries.
