It was formed during the opening of the Equatorial Atlantic in the Lower Cretaceous. The Basin was genereted by a combined tectonic regime which are distension, responsible for the separation of the supercontinent Gondwana during the Mesozoic, and shearering strain, influenced by the Romanche Fracture zone. Barreirinhas basin had its exploratory beginning occurred in the 1960s, but due to the fact that this occurs unsatisfactorily the basin remained stigmatized. Its studies have recently been resumed with the discovery of promising indication of oil and gas in its conjugated margin in Africa, in the Oil Field of Jubilee. This study purpuses at the construction of reliable geophysical and geological models, which represent the internal architecture and the sedimentary filling of the emerged portion of the Barreirinhas Basin. For this, the interpretation of two 2D seismic sections was integrated with information from five of geophysical profiles of wells and gravimetric data. The seismic sections are arranged perpendicular to each other and oriented in WNW-ESE and NNE-SSW directions, being located in the central segment of the basin, north of the Sobradinho Fault Zone and south of the coastline. The use of seismic attributes provided a significant highlight in both the seismic and the structural features, thus evidencing the predominance of listric normal faults in the rifte sequence and a later occurrence of trantensional kinematics, associated with a dextral movement during separation of South America and Africa. In relation to the gravimetric data, the qualitative analysis of its anomalies allowed the subdivision of the study area into three main domains: D1, D2 and D3, it is associated to intercalations of meta-vulcano-sedimentary rocks and ortho-derivative gneisses, to the internal geometry of the basin and the Moho Rise toward the coastline. The quantitative interpretation of the gravimetric data, linked to the seismic data previously analyzed, allowed to delimit in four subsurface units, being associated to the Rifte and Drifte supersequence and crustal blocks of high and low density. The integration of the geophysical information made possible the construction of a simplified geological model of the emersed portion of the basin, as well as the inference of a Pinch out type geometry for the depocenters.
