The objective of the work is to analyze the management and knowledge of insertion of the birth plan by nurses in a reference hospital, the Hospital Universitário Ana Bezerra. The study is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach, carried out with nurses at the Ana Bezerra University Hospital, in November 2023, in the city of Santa Cruz/RN. The collection took place in a few moments: firstly, the interviews were carried out at HUAB and then the interviews were transcribed, which consisted of listening to the audios. The collected data were transcribed by the researcher herself and evaluated according to the content analysis method according to Bardin. As results, three categories were identified, the first related to what the birth plan means for nurses; the second on the execution of the birth plan, with the following subcategories: professionals consider themselves confident in executing the birth plan, possibilities for executing the birth plan, factors that make it difficult to execute the birth plan. The third category refers to the need to add knowledge about the birth plan. It is concluded that the study participants have theoretical and practical knowledge about the birth plan, have great possibilities of carrying out the PP and have few difficulties.
