In this context, the general objective was to build a normative teaching tool, of the protocol type, for the implementation of a room for emergency care in the obstetrics sector of Hospital do Seridó, municipality of Caicó, state of Rio Grande do Norte. Methodologically, it is an integrative, descriptive, exploratory literature review with a qualitative approach, based on studies, protocols and documents that regulate obstetric care. The literature search was carried out between April and July 2021, through the VHL, using the following databases: LILACS, SCIELO, MEDLINE, using the descriptors: Protocol, Obstetrics and Emergency, and through a search addressed, through academic google, using the keywords: Stabilization Room, Protocol and Obstetrics. From the inclusion and exclusion criteria, listed to delimit the study, it was possible to identify a total of 85 studies. The selection of studies occurred according to titles, abstracts and full content, being selected 4 studies to compose the work. The results were presented through a flowchart of the material obtained, analyzed, confronted and discussed through the construction of summary tables and analysis categories. From the study, it was possible to consider that there was a difficulty in finding material on the subject in question, the importance of standardized care, based on evidence and based on theoretical support, was evidenced, in order to reduce risks, complications, maternal mortality rates, and relevance in providing qualified, effective and safe obstetric care.
