Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Engenharia Ambiental) - Centro de Tecnologia, Universidade Federal do Rio grande do Norte, Natal, 2021.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/40853The importance of precipitation for human activities is irrefutable, interfering with the economy and human survival and development. When it occurs in excess or in scarcity, precipitation can harm the local population, causing heavy rains, flooding, chaos in urban mobility, among other consequences. Thus, the importance of hourly precipitation studies becomes evident. In this context, the present work aims to analyze this issue in the Northeast of Brazil (NEB), where there are irregular rains and extreme events. For this, hourly precipitation data were used, from the network of automatic meteorological stations managed by the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET). They cover the period from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2018. The series used covered the nine capitals of this region. The hourly averages of this meteorological variable for the years considered were calculated, as well as the Mann-Kendall linear trend test on the hourly scale. The work analyzed the monthly hourly averages, the trends and their significance, and showed the results obtained to aid the development of different projects that suffer interference from precipitation for their execution. The city of Aracaju/SE was the one with the highest number of trends, both positive and negative. Fortaleza/CE had the lowest number of positive trends, and Salvador/BA the lowest number of negative trends.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/PrecipitaçãoNordeste brasileiroTendência horáriaAnálise da média e da tendência das precipitações horárias das capitais do Nordeste brasileiroAnalysis of the average and trend of hourly rainfall in northeastern Brazilian capitalsbachelorThesis
