2022. 29f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Educação Física), Departamento de Educação Física, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2022.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/49145Muscle hypertrophy caused by resistance training is a fact consolidated by science. However, the proportion at which each muscle group, muscle or specific muscle region increases its volume may vary according to the training methodology adopted. Therefore, this work aims to analyze the uniformity, or lack thereof, of muscle hypertrophy in response to resistance training. The electronic databases Pubmed and Google Scholar were the tools that this narrative review used to build the theoretical framework present in 13 articles originally published in English. After analysis using magnetic resonance or ultrasound, the results indicate that manipulation of resistance training variables, such as exercise selection, range of motion, contraction velocity and type of muscle action, can result in a pattern of muscle growth. non-uniform along the length of the muscle or synergistic groups involved in the movement. However, the justifications for this phenomenon are not yet fully elucidated.
