In Brazil, this discussion started from 1980, when the manufacturing industry started losing share in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and became the target of a series of debates and counterpoints by the scholars in the area. From this, and according to the defined concept of de-industrialization, the research project aims to analyze de-industrialization in the Manufacturing Industry through its historical, theoretical, methodological and situational aspects. For this, they will be made documentary and bibliographic research to the authors and specific organs in order to conceptualize the theme and its foundations in relation to economic theory.
