The condominial system has as basic premise the participation of the population to carry out the necessary maintenance, in addition to obeying the natural layout of the land, looking for the most favorable places for its execution, be it by the sidewalks, gardens or bottom of the lots. These facts allow the implementation costs to be lower than the costs of implementing the conventional system, obtaining reductions of 30% to 65%. The Water and Sewage Company of Rio Grande do Norte (CAERN) works with two types of sanitary sewage systems, conventional and condominial. However, in the condominial system it is where the major problems are verified by virtue of several factors, among them, being the main, the bad use by the users. Also, when verifying the quantities of requests for clearing and repairs of condominial sewers, this demand is higher when compared to the requests for service of the conventional branches. Although maintenance of the condominial system is the responsibility of the users, the concessionaire started to assume this service. For this reason, a survey was carried out to analyze the technical-economical sustainability of the maintenance of the condominial sewage system when there is no user's co-participation. From this study, we obtained the percentages in which the expenses with the conventional and condominial system correspond, respectively, to 45.76% and 54.24%, of which only 32.10% of the economies interconnected to the condominial system. Thus, it was possible to evaluate the technical-economical sustainability of the continuity of the condominial system executed by CAERN and proved that this model is not economically feasible.openAccessEsgoto condominialCoparticipaçãoManutençãoCustosSustentabilidadeManutenção do sistema de esgoto condominial: avaliação da sustentabilidade técnico-econômicabachelorThesis
