This article is the result of a study carried out in the central warehouse of the municipality of Currais Novos-RN, linked to the municipal administration department. The main objective of the study was to identify and classify the main problems faced in the sector, through the application of the GUT Matrix - a management support tool based on the parameters of Gravity, Urgency and Trend. Interviews were conducted with all employees in the sector and, based on the data collection, a prioritization matrix was developed containing the main obstacles in the activities related to the planning, receipt, storage, distribution and replacement of materials phases. The analysis revealed significant structural and operational flaws, such as inadequate storage of items, lack of physical space, receipt of materials in inappropriate locations and lack of control over the validity of inputs.
