Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2017.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/47373The present study aims to develop an interior design for the toy library of the Child Education Center - NEI - CAp / UFRN, aimed at children aged between 2 and 11 years of age, addressing the necessary procedures to create an adequate environment to their full development. This work deals with the importance of the toy library in the process of learning and development and notes the need for this type of space in schools as an essential environment in the construction of advances by all children. It is considered that the design of the toy library was a milestone that proved the relevance of playing to the child in the school environment, having been considered, at that initial moment of its construction, psychopedagogical, functional and aesthetic aspects. The research developed is of a qualitative character, based on the theoretical conceptual deepening from the critical review of the literature related to the studied subject. Dialogue was established mainly with authors such as Piaget (1998), Vygostky (1998) and Wajskop (2005). This research is organized around the three main stages of the design process (definition of problems, creation of form and generation of ideas), proposed by Lupton (2013). The author indicates the use of some methodological tools during the steps of the design process to arrive at a conscious result. The tools chosen for this study were the briefing, through the application of a questionnaire; the open interview; the study of space; the codesign method and the development of digital mockup for presentation of the final model. The conception of the project was elaborated taking into account the recommendations of the Ministry of Education of the Child Education Center - NEI - CAp / UFRN, as well as the expressions of interest of the children of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th years of school. It is concluded in this work that the space of the toy library is of fundamental importance, since it awakens in the child the construction of bonds with peers from the interaction through toy / play; the elaboration of internal conflicts based on the simulation of experiences of daily situations and the sense of collective responsibility.
