The research is characterized as bibliographic and documentary, developed through the inductive method, with a qualitative approach. The main results achieved were: the mapping of the documents of the Truth Commission of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte that are in the Image Laboratory, and those that are in the General Archive ofthe university. In view of this, it is reflected in the need to contribute to the publication of those referred to by using the attributes of information findability.
