Therefore, it is necessary that the teachers use this tool for the development of the child, small and stimulating readers into the world of imagination. Thus, it is expected to contribute to the discussion of this issue, believing that by means of teaching practices such as telling stories can the school become source of joy and pleasure, making the child develop imagination and fantasy. The children's tales offer the child a playful way to learn and contribute to the formation of the human being. The present work aims to demonstrate the influence of fairy tales in childhood development. The study is based on the bibliographic and field research with emphasis on qualitative analysis, with the use of procedure teaching resources and the use of children's books, prints, read and tell stories using their own words with ease. To that end, supported on authors such as Abramovich (1994), Kramer (2008), Bettelheim (1996) and among others.
