This paper aimed to describe the reading development process of a student with 9 year-old-ASD student, regularly enrolled in the 3rd grade of elementary school. Through a qualitative case study methodology, interviews were conducted with the student, here called the Reader, with his mother and his regular school teacher. The data were also composed of field diary records produced during regular classroom observations. Finally, a reading protocol was used, which aimed to evaluate the student's reading comprehension of expository texts.
