Faced with this reality, traditional groups historically present in these spaces are the main agents that suffer from this process, often feeling the pressure from the real estate market, sometimes allied with public administration, to the point of expulsion of these communities. In addition to this intense social issue present in these territories, there is also a profound relevance to the ecological role of waterfront spaces, as well as vulnerability to urban advancement processes. Combining these points with recent dynamics experienced by fishing communities and workers along the Redinha shoreline, related both to the revision process of the Master Plan (2018-2022) and recent works on the waterfront, the final undergraduate project titled "Entwined Network: Urbanistic Proposal for Waterfront Areas in Redinha Velha Beach" is developed, with the main objective of creating an urbanistic project developed through collaborative methodologies for the waterfront areas of Redinha Velha Beach, reconciling the touristic aspect of the beach with the importance of the traditional communities in the Redinha neighborhood. Four specific objectives were organized for the full development of the proposal: Understanding public open space systems based on the peculiarities of waterfront areas and their relationships with traditional communities; Recognizing the diverse aspects of the Redinha Beach coastline, considering the morphological, socioeconomic, and cultural peculiarities of the region; Analyzing the urban interventions that have taken place in Redinha, taking into account the context of the proposals, their implementation, and their impact on users; Applying participatory design methodology in developing proposals for waterfront areas in Redinha Velha.
