The research was exploratory and descriptive, with a qualitative approach, using a bibliographic survey on topics such as sustainability in tourism and certification of green destinations, based on internationally recognized criteria, such as: destination management, nature and landscape, environment and climate, culture and tradition, community well-being, and business and hospitality. The results highlighted significant advances, such as strategic partnerships, local community empowerment and the promotion of environmental practices.
