The theoretical framework adopted includes the works of Ferreiro and Teberosky (1985), Cardoso- Martins (1991), Barbosa (2015), Carvalho (2007) and Costa (2023). The methodology was organized in five meetings with the research subject, using disyllabic words with consonant-vowel (CV) structure, rhymes and themes related to their interests. The results showed that, throughout the meetings, the subject began to recognize disyllabic words more confidently (for example, "ma-ta", "la-ma", "ma-la"), being able to identify initial and final sounds of words, such as the sound of the “L” in "lama", which was associated with the name of his grandson Lucas and gestures from his daily life. He was also able to join syllables to form short words and recognize some rhymes, which made it easier to memorize and understand the structure of words. In addition, a positive change was observed in his attitude towards learning, with greater confidence in trying to read and write, less fear of making mistakes and greater involvement in the process.
